3M Greptile(TM) Technology

 Frequently Asked Questions

Q What is micro-replication technology?
Q

Micro-replication technology is the replication of ultra-precise, predetermined, three-dimensional micro-structured surfaces onto a variety of substrates. These substrates alter the physical, chemical and optical properties of the substrates, leading to new and useful products.

Q How well does it work in wet conditions?
Q

3M™ Greptile™ Gripping Material is not significantly affected by water. A study done at the University of Wisconsin showed 3 times higher friction wet compared to a standard leather glove and 70 times higher friction than rubber grips in oily conditions.

Q How long will the golf grips last?
Q

The life of 3M Premium Golf Grips is similar to other rubber-based golf grips. The length of their life varies greatly based on how much use they get, how tightly the golfer grips the club, and the consistency of the grip.

Q What is the difference between the premium and standard glove?
Q

Both gloves are primarily made of Cabretta leather. The biggest difference is that the premium glove has individual pods of Greptile™ material that are much smaller and strategically placed to eliminate stiffness in the glove. The standard glove has one large panel of Greptile™ Gripping Material sewn into it which gives the glove a stiffer "hand." While the glove is being used, the Greptile™ material crinkles wherever it is folded. This stiffness usually dissipates after the glove is broken in.
