Wrap with a Passion

Peter Northrop is passionate about cars. So much so, he's going all out to transform his German import into a showcase piece by installing a more powerful engine, new wheels and distinctive interior and exterior wrap finishes.

His film of choice for the final aesthetic transformation? The new, ready-to-apply 3M™ Scotchprint® Wrap Film Series 1080.

"The finishes and textures of the new films are incredible – matte, carbon fiber, brushed metals – I've never seen anything like it," said Northrop, a sales associate at German Motoring.

The Freedom to Express

Northrop, who has done some wrap work in the past, was thrilled that he could take the film right out of the box, develop a design concept and install it. "I'm not a professional installer, but the air release feature made a huge difference," he said.

Northrop chose the matte black film for the exterior and finished the mirrors and interior trim with carbon fiber film. "[The car] blends into the Miami nightlife, but turns heads in a way I haven't seen from other finishes – even in the midst of bright orange and green Lamborghinis," Northrop laughed. "I absolutely love the effects – these films take vehicle personalization to a whole new level."

  
After months of design, fabrication and customization of the engine and drive train, Peter Northrop completed his vehicle makeover with a matte black finish on the front grille, hood, roof and trunk as an accent stripe.
