3M Certified Graphics Installation Company Requirements

3M Certified Graphics Installation Company imageThis program focuses on certifying the installation company that performs all types of graphic installations.

This is a challenging program for companies, designed to qualify and test installation companies that seek to be best in class.


  1. All requirements developed and administered by the UASG
  2. Requirements include, but not limited to:
    1. Meet business requirements specified by the UASG
      The UASG requires companies to be in business for three years, submit industry references, and undergo a scored evaluation of their operations during an on site interview.
    2. Successful passage of the 3M Certified Graphics Installation Company test by at least one full time employed installer in your company. The test is a rigorous two-day hands-on and written test, which includes demonstrating knowledge and/or skill for the following applications: vehicle wraps, boat wraps(written test only); trailers with rivets and corrugations; smooth walls; textured surfaces; floor graphics. Other applications may be added at the UASG and 3M's discretion.
    3. UASG members are required to adhere to a shared code of conduct and to submit annual documentation to validate employment of their tested installer(s), insurance, and compliance of their business practices.

3M Preferred Graphics Installer Requirements

3M Preferred Graphics Installer imageThis program focuses on the individual installer performing all types of graphic installations.

This is a challenging program for the individual, designed to test the graphics installer who seeks to be best in class.


Requirements for Becoming a 3M Preferred Graphics Installer

  1. The Installer successfully completes the 3M Preferred Graphics Installer test. The test is a rigorous two-day hands-on and written test, which includes demonstrating knowledge and/or skill for the following applications: vehicle wraps, boat wraps(written test only); trailers with rivets and corrugations; smooth walls; textured surfaces; floor graphics. Other applications may be added at 3M's discretion.
  2. The installer completes, signs and submits an application/agreement form along with proof of individual or company liability insurance.
  3. Upon acceptance, 3M will issue a credential stating that the applicant is now a 3M Preferred Graphics Installer.
  4. Each 3M Preferred Graphics Installer is required to renew the title annually, which at a minimum may include a written or on-line test. At 3M's discretion, the installer also may be required to complete hands-on testing annually.
  5. 3M reserves the right to refuse to issue, revoke, or renew the credentials of any 3M Preferred Graphics Installer that has been deemed to be in breach of the said 3M Graphics Preferred Installer agreement.

3M Endorsed Vehicle Graphics Installer Requirements

3M Preferred Graphics Installer imageThis program focuses on the individual installer applying easy to complex graphics on personal and small business vehicles.

This four-level program prepares and accredits you to participate in 3M's exclusive Scotchprint® Personalized Vehicle Graphics Program, allowing you access to install jobs that are not open to anyone else. To participate, every installer must complete and pass the on-line 1-Star module that includes program information, basic installation skills and testing. Further advancement up to 4-Star will be assessed on an individual basis, and training is available when needed for advancement.


  1. The installer completes the registration on Scotchprint.com and submits proof of individual or company liability insurance.
  2. Each installer, even those who are currently well qualified to install graphics, must successfully complete the 1-Star on-line training and testing at Scotchprint.com, which also explains how the Scotchprint personalized graphics program works.

    NOTE: All installers may pursue getting 2-Star, 3-Star and 4-Star endorsement which entitles you to be offered and accept more complex vehicle installation jobs. Please contact us to find out more.
  3. Upon acceptance, 3M will issue a credential stating that the applicant is now a 3M Endorsed Graphics Installer and the installer’s contact information will be accessible by vehicle dealerships in their area.
  4. 3M reserves the right to refuse to issue, revoke, or renew the credentials of any 3M Endorsed Graphics Installer that has been deemed to be in breach of the said 3M Endorsed Graphics Installer agreement.
