A single-dose cartridge containing 100% ethylene oxide (EO). Each cartridge holds between 3.5 to 6 ounces (100 to 170 grams) of EO depending on the model of 3M™ Steri-Vac™ Sterilizer used.

3M™ Steri-Gas™ Cartridges 4-100

This single-dose cartridge contains 100 grams of 100% ethylene oxide and is used in 3M Steri-Vac 4XL and 5XL sterilizers.

3M™ Steri-Gas™ Cartridges 8-170

170 gram ethylene oxide cartridge for Model 8XL sterilizer

3M developed the Steri-Gas cartridge to minimize the risk associated with EO and the large, bulky tanks that were typically used. The cartridge is placed into its holder inside the sterilizer chamber. When the sterilization cycle is complete, it is aerated with the sterilized items, and discarded with non-incinerated waste or offered for recycling.
