Identifies coliform levels in raw materials, in-process product, finished product, the manufacturing environment and equipment. Results in 24 hours.

The 3M Petrifilm Coliform Count Plate is a ready-made culture medium system which contains modified Violet Red Bile (VRB) nutrients, a cold-water-soluble gelling agent, and a tetrazolium indicator that facilitates colony enumeration.

Petrifilm Coliform Count Plates are used to enumerate coliforms in 24 hours. The indicator dye in the plate colors all colonies red, and a top film traps gas produced by the coliforms. Confirmed coliforms produce red colonies that are associated with gas bubbles; no further confirmation steps are necessary.
