Whether you are moving to a new city or down the street, planning a move will have your hands full. Here are tips for some of the many products 3M offers to help make moving easier for you.
Start sorting through items several weeks before you move. Identify boxes with Post-it® Super Sticky Notes.
To prevent items from being misplaced, use a floor plan of the house and assign a different color to each section or room. Identify each room with Post-it Super Sticky Notes. Place a copy of the floor plan near the front of the house so that helpers will be able to find the rooms easily. Place corresponding Post-it notes on each box and on the entries of each room. |

To protect floors from the dirty shoes of helpers, treat carpet, hardwood and resilient flooring surfaces with
Scotchgard™ Protector several days before move-in. Lay down packing blankets or drop cloths over flooring to prevent extra clean-up later.

It is a lot easier to paint an empty room. There is no need to move furniture or take down pictures. For professional paint lines, use Scotch-Blue™ Painter's Tape.
Before moving into a room, determine the layout first. Mark the location of the furniture with Scotch-Blue Painter's Tape. Movers will be able to easily identify where everything goes and you will be able to avoid moving items twice. |

Now that you have freshly painted walls, don't damage them by hanging pictures with nails. Use Command™ Picture Hanging Strips picture instead. They hold on strong and remove cleanly. |
