We feel fortunate to be part of the Cottage Grove community, and are committed to making this a great place for families to live, work and play.
2008 marked our 60th anniversary of growth, change and community partnership in Cottage Grove. We celebrated on-site with our employees and their families, and later with all our neighbors at an inspiring Raptor Release at the beautiful Carpenter St. Croix Valley Nature Center. As you look through the photos, you can see these special events were enjoyed by many. Thanks to all who helped us celebrate and make this special year.
Earlier in the year, we were the proud recipients of the Cottage Grove Chamber of Commerce "Large Business of the Year Award." This honor is especially meaningful, as it represents the many ways 3M and our employees serve our community: Meals on Wheels, Paint-a-Thon, Relay for Life, Adopt-a-Highway, United Way, Youth Service Bureau and Friends in Need are a few of the programs that benefit from the time, energy and resources 3M Cottage Grove employees bring to the community. Look for our latest employee close-up for another example of personal leadership and contribution.
Currently we share with all of you the economic turmoil and uncertainty that affect each of us professionally and personally. We are fortunate at 3M Cottage Grove to be part of a company that has been conservatively managed and relatively prepared to weather these tough times. Our diversified businesses are adjusting to their specific market conditions to maintain service for our customers and maintain job security for our employees.
2009 is certainly a challenging year of change and adjustments. Through this change, we remain committed to our principles and core values. We remain a strong supporter of our community, dedicated to maintain our long history of business success, community partnership and environmental stewardship.
