How to Tips
Inserting the microSD Card
Open the microSD slot door.
Insert the microSD card into the microSD slot (contacts facing upwards) until it “licks” into place.
Close the microSD door.
Now you are ready to select the SD card as the memory where your photos and video will be stored.
Ejecting the microSD Card
Open the microSD slot door.
Push the microSD card into the microSD slot until it “clicks”.
Release the microSD card and the card will eject.
Selecting where you want to store your photos and videos
With the microSD card installed‚ you can select it or the internal memory as location where your photos or video are stored.
Turn on the 3M Camcorder Projector.
Tap the Menu button.
Tap the Right arrow button until the Settnigs Menu (wretch icon) tab is selected.
Tap the Down arrow button until Select Card is selected.
Tap the Ok button and list with two icons will appear: computer chip with the letters “INT” on it‚ and a SD card.
Tap the icon for internal memory or SD card using the Up and Down Arrow buttons.
Once selected‚ the icon for memory you choose will appear in the menu bar at the top of the screen. This icon identifies where your photos and videos are going‚ what you are viewing‚ and what computer will see when connected via USB. All of this will be covered in the other videos.
Accessing the files on the 3M Camcorder Projector using your computer
Whether your computer is running Microsoft® Windows® or Apple® Mac OS 10‚ accessing the files on your 3M Camcorder Projector is quick and easy.
Here is what you need:

USB cable (one is included with the CP45)

Steps:
Turn on the 3M Camcorder Projector and select the memory you wish to access. (see "Selecting where you want to store your photos and videos").
Turn on your computer.
Connect the 3M Camcorder Projector to your computer using the USB cable.
A new drive will appear in your computer’s file browser.
The photos and videos taken by the 3M Camcorder Projector are located in the DCIM folder. Now you are ready to transfer the files from the 3M Camcorder Projector to your computer.
Once you are done moving you files to your computer‚ you can disconnect the USB cable and begin taking photos and videos again.
Showing your photos and videos on a HDTV
The 3M Camcorder Projector comes equipped with an HDMI output which can be connected a HDTV and display what was on the 3M Camcorder Projector LCD panel on the HDTV. You can show what the camera sees‚ file list‚ photo slideshow and videos. Here is how…
Here is what you need:

TV or Display with an HDMI input (Not all TV – HD or not – have HDMI inputs)
NOTE: Some computer monitors with a DVI input will also work with the addition of a DVI to HDMI converter. The only drawback (depending on the monitor) is no sound when playing videos.
Steps:
Connect the 3M Camcorder Projector to the TV using the HDMI cable.
Using the TV’s remote control‚ select the corresponding HDMI input.
Now the CP45 LCD panel should be blank and the CP45 content is on the TV.

Deleting Files through the 3M Camcorder Projector Menu System
You can delete a photo or video you just took‚ one at time or multiple using the CP45 Menu system. Either way‚ the 3M Camcorder Projector makes it easy.
Deleting a Photo or Video You Just Took
If you are not pleased with the photo or video you just took‚ here is a quick way to delete it:
Tap the OK button and the Quick Playback menu will appear.
Select Quick Playback using the up or down arrows and press OK.
Tap the Menu button and the Delete dialog will appear.
Select Yes from the dialog and Tap the OK button.
Now the photo or video is deleted.
Deleting a Photo or Video While Viewing It
Tap the Left arrow button
Select the DCIM folder using the UP or DOWN arrow buttons and tap OK
Select the MEDIA folder and tap OK
Select a jpg (photo) file or mp4 (movie) file and tap Ok
NOTE: While you are viewing a photo‚ you can tap the Right or Left button to move to the next or previous file in the file list.
Tap the Menu button and the Delete dialog will appear.
Select Yes from the dialog and Tap the OK button.
Now the photo or video is deleted.
Deleting Multiple Photos or Videos
There is two parts to deleting multiple photo and/or videos files: first you mark the file with a checkmark second you execute the delete command.
Mark a file with a checkmark
You can mark a file with a checkmark while viewing it in file list or displaying on the LCD panel or projecting. Once you have select the file or are viewing the file you wish to mark‚ follow these steps:
Press and hold the Ok button
A check mark will appear on or beside the file
Delete multiple files at one time
Once you have marked several files with checkmarks‚ you need delete all them all.
While the list of check marked files are displayed‚ tap the Menu button.
The Delete‚ Protect‚ or Unprotect list appears.
Make sure Delete is select (it has an orange rectangle around it) and tap OK
Now all file with a checkmark are deleted.
Protect Photos or Videos from Delete
If you want to prevent a photo or video from accidently being delete‚ the CP45 has a protect feature. You can protect only one file or place a check mark beside multiple files and then follow these steps.
While the selected file or the list of check marked files are displayed‚ tap the Menu button.
The Delete‚ Protect‚ or Unprotect list appears.
Select Protect using the Down arrow ( it has an orange rectangle around it when selected) and tap OK
Now all file of the protected files will have a lock beside them.
Taking a Photo
Tap the Up/Down arrows to zoom in or zoom out.
Tap the Camera () button to take a picture.
Taking a Video
Tap the Up/Down arrows to zoom in or zoom out.
Tap the Record () button to start recording. The Record button will turn red in recording mode‚ and the video recording timer will start rolling.
Tap the Record button again to stop recording. The Record button will turn white to indicate is in standby mode.
While in recording mode‚ press the OK button to pause recording. Press the OK button again to resume recording.
NOTE: The CP45 records up to 25 minutes video clips. At the end of the 25 minute clip‚ the CP45 will ask if you want to continue recording.
Projecting a Photo or Video
Tap the Left arrow button.
Tap the Up/Down arrows to select target folder.
When selecting one file‚ press the OK button to play it.
Press the Projection button () to project. (turns blue in working mode; turns white in standby mode.)
Playback a Video
Press the Left/Right arrows to move to the previous/next file.
Press and hold the Left/Right arrows button to fast forward and fast rewind.
Use the Up/Down arrows to control volume.
Press the OK button to pause the video (press OK again to resume). The following status information will display.
Using the CP45 as a Regular Project
You can use the CP45 to project the content from your DVD or media player that has a composite video output (typically a yellow connector) and analog stereo audio output (typically red connector and white connector).
Connect the composite AV cable to the media player video and audio output.
Connect the projector AV cable to the AV jack on the projector.
Connect the projector AV cable to the composite AV cable from the media device (yellow to yellow‚ white to white and red to red).
How to Tips
Connecting the iPod or iPhone to a 3M Mobile Projector
Connect the video cable to the projector’s VGA-AV input.
Connect the other end of the video cable to your Apple Device.
Watching a Video or Photo Slideshow
On your Apple® Device‚ start a video or photo slideshow. Some Apple Devices require you to turn on "TV out" in Videos>Settings before watching a video or slideshow on the projector.
Note:The iPad 2 is able to output a mirror image of what is displayed on its screen. The 3M Computer
Cable (Consumer UPC: 05112563471) and the Apple® VGA Adapter are necessary to project the mirror
image using the 3M projector. The 3M Computer Cable is sold separately by 3M and the Apple VGA
Adapter is sold separately by Apple‚ Inc.
Troubleshooting Notes:
If you see the 3M logo screen‚ your device is not sending video to the 3M projector. Refer to the User Guide for your Apple device and look for “Watching a Video”‚ “Slideshows” and “TV out.”
If the iPod is already playing a video‚ it will not play on the projector until you stop the video and start it again.
Connecting to a Computer running Microsoft Windows

Turn on both the projector and the computer.

When you connect the VGA cable to the projector‚ the projector will detect the cable and display the VGA icon ().
When the computer outputs a VGA signal‚ the projector will detect‚ display the VGA icon and the input resolution and display the image.
Troubleshooting Notes:
If the projector does not detect an input signal‚ press FN button and monitor button at the same time to toggle through the computer’s different display modes ( LCD‚ Monitor‚ or Both). The monitor button is different on every computer. Most monitor buttons have one of the following on it: LCD/CRT‚ icon‚ etc.
If the input resolution is not one of the following resolutions: VGA‚ SVGA‚ XGA‚ or WXGA (1280 × 768)‚ the projector will display the question icon ().
If the projector still does not display the computer‚ try the following “How To” document for your video adapter on the site.
To determine the video adapter application installed on your computer running Microsoft‚ follow these steps: 1. Right Click the desktop and a context menu will appear‚ 2. select “Properties” from the menu and the “Display Properties” will appear‚ 3. select the settings tab and then click the Advanced button and “Plug and Play Monitor…” dialog box will appear‚ and 4. click the Adapter tab and look at the Adapter Type. You should see the manufacture name and model of your video adapter like Intel‚ NVIDIA‚ or ATI. You may also see tab that takes you to the video adapter setup software.
Connecting to a computer running Mac OS 10
You will need the following:
Apple Computer.
Apple VGA adapter.
3M Mobile Projector.
3M Mobile Projector VGA cable.
Connecting the computer and projector
Attach the VGA adapter to the Apple Computer.
Attach the 3M cable to the projector.
Connect the cable from the Apple Computer to the cable from the 3M Mobile Projector.
Turn on both the projector and the computer.
Displaying an image on the 3m Mobile Projector
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences.
Choose Displays.
Click Detect Displays.
Click Gather Windows.
Select the projector display pane.
Confirm the Resolution setting is 800 × 600‚ 1024 × 768‚ or 1280 × 768.
Confirm the Refresh Rate is 60 Hertz.
Note:For best results‚ set the computer resolution to SVGA (800 × 600).
Configuring an Intel Graphics Media software for the 3M Mobile Projector
When the Intel video card in your computer does not automatically recognize the 3M Mobile Projector‚ it may not output an image to the projector. In the following instruction you will manual setup the video card for the Pocket Project by opening Intel Graphics Media Accelerator driver‚ clone the display (that is display the same thing on both the laptop screen and the projector)‚ set the resolution to 800 × 600 and the refresh rate to 60 Hz.
Open Intel Graphics Media software by right clicking the desktop and click Graphic Properties from the context menu. (A context menu is a menu that pops up when you right click an icon or the desktop and shows you list function based on what you clicked.)
Intel Graphics Media software will appear.
In the Display Devices tab‚ select the Intel® Dual Display Clone radio button and then press the Apply button.
In the Display Setting tab‚ select 800x600 from the resolution drop-down list and then press the Apply button.
While in the Display Settings tab‚ select the Monitor tab from the Notebook and Monitor tabs at the top of the window. Then select 60 Hz from the Refresh Rate drop down list. Finally‚ press the apply button.
You should now see the same image on your laptop screen and the 3M Mobile Projector.
Troubleshooting Tip
If the monitor tab does not appear at the top of the window‚ the computer’s video card does not detect the 3M Mobile Projector. The cable may be loose or the projector is turned off.
Configuring an nVidia video card on a computer running Windows for the 3M Mobile Projector
When the nVidia video card in your computer does not automatically recognize the 3M Mobile Projector‚ it may not output an image to the projector. In the following instruction you will open the nVidia Control Panel‚ clone the display (display the same thing on both the laptop screen and the projector) and set the resolution to 800 × 600 and the refresh rate to 60 Hz.
Open nVidia Control Panel by right clicking the desktop and then clicking nVidia Control Panel from the context menu. (A context menu is a menu that pops up when you right click an icon or the desktop and shows you list function based on what you clicked.)
nVidia Control Panel software will appear. Under the Display option click setup multiple displays.
In the Setup multiple devices tab‚ select “The same on both Displays (Clone)” as the nView Display mode and click apply.
Next select “Change Resolution” under the Display tab‚ select the Mobile Projector as the display you would like to change and Select 800 × 600 from the resolution drop-down list and 60Hz from the refresh rate‚ then press the Apply button.
You should now see the same image on your laptop screen and the 3M Mobile Projector.

How to get a bigger sound when using the 3M™ Projector Sleeve
Do you want bigger sound when watching a video or movie? Since the 3M Projector Sleeve does not have a speaker and relies on the iPhone speaker for audio‚ and a bigger sound requires additional speakers. Your first option is standard computer speakers or self-powered speakers. Simply place the speakers into your phone’s headphone jack. Your second option is Bluetooth wireless speakers. Follow the instructions that come with the speakers to make a Bluetooth connect with your phone. Then place the speakers below or beside the image. Now you have an instant‚ spur-of-the-moment home theater.
How to Charge an iPhone 4/4s using the 3M Projector Sleeve
As long as the 3M Projector Sleeve is charged‚ it can charge your iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S. Although the projector does not have the capacity to fully charge the phone’s battery‚ it does serve as an auxiliary power source until you can charge your phone using the phone’s power adapter.
Dock your phone into the 3M Projector Sleeve.
Press the Charge mode button and the three LED beside the button will start flashing. The battery icon in the phone’s status bar will change from battery icon to battery charging icon.
Notes:
The 3M Projector Sleeve will not charge the phone when the projector is on.
You can charge your phone while it is docked in the 3M Projector Sleeve by connecting the projector to the Apple iPhone 4/4S Power Adapter or a computer’s USB port using a USB cable. A USB cable comes with the projector.

Troubleshooting Notes:
If the projector displays a blue screen‚ your phone is not sending video to the 3M projector. Refer to the User Guide for your Apple device and look for “Watching a Video”‚ “Slideshows” and “TV out.”
If the iPhone 4/4S is already playing a video‚ it will not play on the projector until you stop the video and restart it.

HDMI Compatible Devices
There are three connector types found on HDMI compatible devices: HDMI, Mini-HDMI and Micro-HDMI. You will find HDMI outputs on many smartphones, DVD players, game consoles, computers and set-top boxes.
Open the cover on the projector
Using the proper HDMI cable type, connect the projector to the HDMI output on the other device
Close the cover. You can route the cable through a notch on the cover

Some devices require an adapter when connecting to a HDMI compatible display such as the 3M Streaming Projector. Please consult your manufacturer’s documentation before purchasing a cable or an adapter.
MHL Compatible Devices
MHL enabled devices such as smartphones will have a microUSB port. You can find a list of MHL enabled devices at http://www.mhlconsortium.org/productlist/. You can also refer to the device specification.

The MHL cable is sold separately. If you want a single cable solution, purchase a passive MHL cable. Other types of MHL to HDMI adapter require additional power adapters.

Troubleshooting
The projector will not turn on.
The battery is not charged or the power adapter is not connected to the projector and a working wall outlet. Test the electrical outlet by plugging another electrical device (like a radio) into the wall outlet and confirm that the wall outlet works.
The image is not visible or is very dim.
The 3M Camcorder Projector is a battery operated projector and requires controlled lighting conditions. The image may appear very dim in brightly lit rooms.
Project the image onto a flat‚ white surface.
Decrease the light on the surface where the image is being projected.
Decrease the size of the image.
My video device is connected to the projector but the projector will not display the video.
Unplug the AV cable from the projector and a white image with the 3M logo will display.
Plug the AV cable into the camcorder projector and it will ask you to choose between earphones and AV in. Choose AV in. Then reconnect you video device.
Troubleshooting
The projector will not turn on.
A full charged battery is not installed or the power adapter is not connected to the projector and a working wall outlet.
Hold down the power button until the projector powers up.
The Status Indicator is flashing red when the power button is held down.
The battery needs to be charged.

Make sure the status indicator is green. This indicates that the projector is powered on and projecting an image.

Decrease the size of the image.
The projector is displaying a question mark.
The projector does not support the video or computer input signal. Switch to a video or computer signal that the projector supports. Take a look the how to section for connecting a computer and media player.
A computer is connected to the projector but the projector will not display the computer’s image.
Unplug the VGA-Audio cable from the projector and a white image with the 3M logo will display. If start up screen does not appear‚ please contact us and we will assist you.
Plug the VGA – Audio cable into the projector and the icon in the upper-left corner of the image will change from a “waiting on cable” to the “VGA-Audio cable” icon.
The projector is making a noise.
The projector has a small fan for cooling the LED light source. The fan turns on and off automatically based on the projector’s internal temperature. The fan will turn on more often in warm environments or at high altitudes.
The speakers make noise when the component AV cable is not correctly connected to the video device. There are two red connectors on the component AV cable. One is for the right audio channel and the other is for the Pr component video signal. If these connectors are switched‚ the projected image will appear green and an abnormal noise will come from the right speaker.
My video device is connected to the projector but the projector will not display the video.
Unplug the AV cable from the projector and a white image with the 3M logo will display.
Plug the AV cable into the projector and the icon in the upper-left corner of the image will change from a “waiting on cable” to the “VGA-Audio cable” icon.
Make sure the video output or TV out is turned on or selected in the video device menu system.

Troubleshooting
The projector will not turn on.
The battery is not charged or the power adapter is not connected to the projector and a working wall outlet. First charge the battery. If the battery does not seem to charge‚ test the electrical outlet by plugging another electrical device (such as a radio) into the wall outlet and confirm that the wall outlet works.
The image is not visible or is very dim.
The 3M Projector Sleeve is a battery operated projector and requires controlled lighting conditions. The image may appear very dim in brightly lit rooms.
Project the image onto a flat‚ white surface.
Decrease the light on the surface where the image is being projected.
Decrease the size of the image.
The iPhone is docked into the projector but the projector will not display the video.
You must start a video‚ Keynote present or photo slideshow before it is displayed by the projector.
Confirm that the app has the TV-out feature. Some app restrict this feature.
Confirm that iPhone 4/4S recognizes the 3M Projector Sleeve by looking for “MFi Accessory” in Settings > General > About. If you do not see MFi Accessory in the About screen on the phone‚ then follow these steps: 1. Remove the phone from the projector and turn off the project; 2. Dock (or slide) the phone into the projector; 3. Turn on the projector and the phone will recognize the projector. When the phone recognizes the projector‚ MFi Accessory‚ which is the 3M Sleeve Projector‚ will appear in the About screen just above Diagnostics and Usage Statics.
The iPhone displays the message: “This accessory is not optimized for this iPhone. You many experience noise caused by celluar interference and a decrease in cellular signal strength.”
This is maybe caused by a communication failure between the phone and projector when you docked the phone into the projector. To avoid this message‚ turn off the projector; remove the phone from the projector sleeve; dock (or slide) the phone into the projector; and finally turn on the projector again.
Turn off Widescreen in Setting > General > TV out on the iPhone.
The project stops showing the video after a few minute every time.
The iPhone may be going into lock mode. You can adjust this function in Setting>General>Auto-Lock.
Troubleshooting
The Power Adapter and Charging the Battery
I do not see where to insert the outlet clip into the power adapter.
There is a blank clip, inserted into the power adapter, when it is shipped. Remove the blank clip which covers the power adapter contacts. Now install an outlet clip.
I do not see an amber light when I plug the power adapter into the projector.
Make sure the power outlet is working.
Make sure the connector from the power adapter is plugged into the "DC In" on the projector and not the headphone jack.
When fully charged the LED indicator will flash green.
Installing the Roku® Streaming Stick™ into the Projector
The Roku Streaming Stick will not insert into the projector.
There is a dust cap on the end of the connector. Remove it before inserting Streaming Stick into the projector.
When you insert the stick, make sure the word Roku is facing out.
The cover hits the Roku Streaming Stick when I close the cover.
The streaming stick may not be inserted properly. Try removing the stick and inserting it again.
The cover does not close properly.
There is a tab on the bottom corner of the cover. Make sure the tab inserts into the groove on the projector and the rest of the cover snaps into place.
Turning the Projector On or Off
The projector will not turn on.
The battery is not charged. Plug the power adapter into the projector and try again.
The projector button panel is on but the projector is not projecting an image.
The video source (such as the Roku Stick) is outputting a black image. First, try removing the Roku Streaming Stick or disconnect the video cable. Do you see the 3M logo screen? If not, try turning off the projector and turning it on again. If you still do not see a 3M Logo screen while the status indicator is green, contact 3M™ for additional support.
The Lamp is off. Press the Lamp ON/Off button on the remote control.
The remote control will not turn on the projector.
When the projector is new and never been turned on, you must use the power button on the projector. Now you can turn on the projector by pressing the power button on the projector or the remote control.
The projector is powered on and the Roku Stick is inserted but no input is displayed on the screen.
You should see a power light on the stick. If you do not, the stick may not be inserted properly. Try removing the stick and inserting it again.
The status indicator on the projector flashes red.
The projector's battery needs to be charged.
I continue to see the bouncing Roku screen and that's all.
While the Roku Streaming Stick boots up, you will see the bouncing Roku screen. Normally the Roku Streaming Stick takes about two minutes to boot up. If the screen does not change within 10 minutes, try turning off the projector and try again.
Setting Up the Projector
The projector falls over when I place it on its rear cover.
The cover may not be seated properly. There is a tongue on the bottom corner of the cover. Insert the tongue into the groove on the projector and the rest of the cover will snap into place.
The image is tinted or discolored.
The wall or surface you're projecting onto is colored. Try projecting onto a white wall or surface.
The lens may be dirty. Use a dry cotton swab to clean it off.
Focusing the Image
The image is blurry.
Use the focus wheel on the side of the projector (next to the lens) to sharpen the image.
Reduce the input resolution. The native resolution of projector is 480p. Therefore, resolutions greater that 720p may appear blurry.
If you are closer to the projected image than the projector, you might be seeing the individual pixels that make up the image. Reduce the size of the image or move away from the image.
The image is too dim.
Reduce the image size and/ or decrease (darken) the room lighting.
The image seems bright enough but there are no details in the dark shadows.
Open the projector menu and increase brightness setting and then decrease the contrast slightly.
The image seems bright enough but there are no details in the highlights.
Open the projector menu and decrease contrast.
Adjusting the Volume
There is no audio coming out of the speaker.
Turn up the volume or turn off mute.
Turn up the volume on the external speakers.
There may be a moment of silence in the show you are watching.
Using the Remote Control
The remote control does not work.
Remove the plastic film that is in-between the battery and the remote control.
Replace the battery. The battery size is a CR 2025.
The remote control is out of range of the projector. The remote control's range is up to 20 feet.
Sunlight or lighting in the room can interfere with the projector's reception of the remote control's signal.

This warranty covers only normal use of the product. 24-hour-per-day or other excessive continual use causes strain and is not considered normal use.

What 3M Will Do To Correct Problems:

3M will‚ at its option‚ repair or replace the defective unit without charge for parts or labor. Return of the 3M product will be at 3M’s expense.
When warranty service involves the exchange of the 3M product or of a part‚ the item replaced becomes 3M property.
The exchanged 3M product or part may be new or previously refurbished to the 3M standard of quality‚ and at 3M’s option‚ the replacement may be another model of like kind and quality.

What 3M Will Do To Correct Problems:

Normal wear and tear is not covered under warranty.
3M product is designed to operate in the typical indoor environment. This warranty does not cover 3M product used outside of the following circumstances:
Charged by iPhone 4/4S USB Power Adapter or Computer USB port

20 – 80% RH (without condensation)
0 – 3048 m (0 – 10‚000 feet) above sea leve
The air intake and exhaust vent must be clear of obstructions. Inadequate air ventilation will cause the 3M product to malfunction or will cause damage to the 3M product which will void the warranty.
This warranty does not cover any additional costs including‚ but not limited to‚ those associated with removal‚ cleaning or installation of the 3M product‚ adjustments‚ (mechanical or electronic) made to the 3M product.
This warranty covers only normal use of the product. 24-hour-per-day or other excessive continual use causes strain and is not considered normal use.
This warranty does not cover consumables (e.g.‚ batteries).
This warranty is not transferable.
3M is not responsible for warranty service should the 3M label or logo or the rating label or serial number be removed unless otherwise stated in writing for the purposes of private labeling for partnership requirements.
This warranty does not cover postage‚ insurance‚ or shipping costs incurred in presenting your 3M product for warranty service. Said costs are the customer’s responsibility. If a claimed defect cannot be identified or reproduced in service‚ the customer may be held responsible for cost incurred. Should your warranty upgrade include a “change out” service and the claimed defect cannot be identified or reproduced by the technician‚ the customer will be responsible for call out costs.
