Match Gift

We Match Gifts in the Following Areas:

College and University

• Minimum gift: $25
• Maximum gift: $10,000 in a calendar year in 2013; effective January 1, 2014, $5,000 maximum
• Employees: 1:1 match
• Retirees matched .50:1 until five-year anniversary of retirement; then no longer eligible
• Checks are processed in March, July and December each year

Volunteer

• A $250 cash grant is made in volunteer's name, one time per calendar year, to an eligible school or nonprofit
• Employees: minimum 20 hours of service
• Retirees: minimum 25 hours of service
• Checks are processed in April and November each year

Hunger Relief

• Available in St. Paul and Austin only during March 11-22, 2013
• Employee and retiree gifts to 3M-selected organizations
• Minimum gift: $25
• Maximum gift: $2,500
• Employees and retirees matched 1:1 until match cap is met

Thanksgiving

• Available in St. Paul and Austin only during November 11-22, 2013
• Employee and retiree gifts to 3M-selected organizations
• Minimum gift: $25
• Maximum gift: $2,500
• Employees and retirees matched 1:1 until match cap is met

Environmental

• Available in St. Paul and Austin only during April 15-26, 2013
• Employee and retiree gifts to 3M-selected organizations
• Minimum gift: $25
• Maximum gift: $2,500

* The cash match applies to personal gifts paid, not pledged. Gifts can be paid by check, credit card or in the form of a security with a quoted market value. The 3M Foundation will also match gifts made through charitable trusts, gift accounts or donor-advised funds at community foundations. No other forms of personal or real property are matched.
