Often, it's the natural variations that define the quality of beauty – seemingly random arrangements of color, texture, and pattern. Each unique Colorquartz pool shares this principle of natural beauty. The combination of crystals randomly distributed within the pool plaster and the craftsmanship of a hand-troweled finish give rise to rich, natural variations. As it ages, your pool will grow even more beautiful, like fine wine.

Colorquartz Crystals are an important tool in helping you acheive an overall watercolor for your pool. The pool shown to the right demonstrates the impact that Colorquartz Crystals can have on your watercolor. The right side was finished in Premium Blue Splash providing a more traditional look. The left side of the pool was finished with the Caribbean Blue providing a deeper water tone.
Many factors such as pool size, shape, surrounding landscape, even time of day, play a role in the resulting color appearance of your pool. There is no way to determine an exact color that your pool water will appear. You can select blends that will sway the color and tone in your desired direction and avoid colors that are undesirable to you. The best way to achieve the look you desire is to consult with an experienced pool builder or applicator.

The Curing Process
- A new Colorquartz pool may appear mottled, due to an excess layer of "cream" on the surface. This is corrected over time as a part of the natural curing process.
- As the pool cures, the top "cream" layer of plaster is eaten away, exposing an increasing number of crystals. This creates a stronger finish with a more brilliant shine.
- A start-up procedure may speed this natural curing process. Ask your pool finishing expert or service professional about what is right for your pool.

Colorquartz Crystals are added to your pool plaster mix, replacing some of the soft marble or sand. The colored crystals are randomly dispersed throughout the plaster surface so that each pool will have it's own unique appearance.
- 3M provides recommended blend formulas to experienced finishing expert/applicators.
- Your finishing expert/applicator does the blending on-site with portland cement and marble.
- Colorquartz Crystals handle differently than plaster, so it's important to find a finishing expert/applicator with prior experience.
- Bags of Colorquartz Products are clearly marked with the 3M Colorquartz logo, your assurance of quality.

- Premium Splash (86-90% Colorquartz Crystals, balance marble)
Surface includes millions of white S-grade and colored T-grade particles, with enhanced durability due to higher Colorquartz crystal concentration. "Splash" of rich, deep color.
- Premium Blend (86-90% Colorquartz Crystals, balance marble)
