How to do a Rust Repair


Many cars develop small patches of rust that eat away at the paint and become unattractive. These small patches of rust can be repaired. Bondo Hair fixes up to a 1" hole without welding.

Bondo® Bondo-Hair® Long Strand Fiberglass Reinforced Filler

  1. Use a power drill to get down to bare metal with a 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Regalite™ Drill Mounted Automotive Grinding/Sanding/Finishing System. Note: For larger areas, use a 3M Light Rust and Paint Remover. No assembly required.
  2. Mix Bondo Hair with Red Cream Hardener or Body Filler Hardener. Carefully "knead" to eliminate air pockets.
  3. Use 1 1/2" inches of hardener, knead carefully and spread Bondo Hair on area of rest
  4. Acetone will remove Bondo Hair from unwanted areas; follow acetone manufacturer's instructions.
