Answers from Buf-Puf.
Q: How does a Buf-Puf™ Sponge
work?
A: Just add water and your favorite
cleanser to the sponge (or use one of our Buf-Puf™ Singles™ Sponges
already loaded with cleanser) and massage your skin in a gentle, circular motion.
While it cleans, it exfoliates the top layer of dead skin cells, revealing
smoother, cleaner and healthier skin.

Q: How long after using a Buf-Puf
sponge do you have to wait to use it again?
A: We recommend once or twice a
day. If you notice any irritation, use only once a day, or even once every
other day. If irritation or redness persists, discontinue use. Everyone is
different, experiment to see what works best for you. For help in choosing
the right sponge for you, see the Facial Sponges page.

Q: Do I need to use something like
a facial cleanser with a Buf-Puf sponge or can I use a skin cream?
A: For best results, we recommend
you use your favorite soap or foaming facial cleanser with your Buf-Puf sponge.
Creamier products tend to stick to the sponge and make it harder to clean.

Q: How many times can I reuse the
same Buf-Puf sponge?
A: We recommend you replace your
sponges every four to six weeks for best results.

Q: Will using a Buf-Puf sponge help
with applying makeup to my dry skin?
A: Yes. Buf-Puf facial sponges work
by exfoliating the skin cells that build up daily on your face. This is what
your makeup sticks to and gives you that uneven look. Try one for a few weeks
and your complexion may look so great, you might not want to wear makeup.

Q: Which cleansing products will
work best if I have oily skin?
A: Try a mild soap-free cleansing
bar or wash-off cleanser and rinse with warm water. Buf-Puf™ Facial
Sponges are ideal in the fight against pimples and blackheads. By whisking away dead
skin cells and excess grease oils from the skin's surface, they prevent
clogged pores. Avoid using soap or strongly medicated products that can strip
away the skin's natural protective barrier of oils. Follow with a light,
non-comedogenic, oil-free moisturizer that won't clog pores and cause
blackheads.

Q: After cleansing, my skin feels
sore and sensitive. Could it be the products I'm using?
A: Yes. Try switching to hypoallergenic
products for sensitive skin, which are fragrance and lanolin-free. To remove
any irritating residue, follow cream or lotion cleansing with an alcohol-free
toner. If you prefer wash-off products, choose a soap-free dermatological cream
for dry/sensitive skin and rinse well. It could also be from using too much
pressure when massaging your skin with the Buf-Puf sponge. To help avoid skin
irritation, use gentle pressure in a circular motion. To make sure you're
using the right sponge for your skin type, use the Facial Sponges page.

Q: I suffer from eczema. Your regular
facial sponge was recommended to me but left me with a red face. Was it too
rough on my skin?
A: It's tough to tell. You
may have scrubbed too hard on already irritated skin. Consider trying our Gentle
or Extra Gentle sponges (the orange and pink ones) and see how that goes. If
you still have problems, see a dermatologist.
