3M Brookings manufactures hundreds of medical and surgical products ranging from surgical tapes, drapes and dressings to cold/hot packs and biological indicators. In 2007, this facility shipped over 79.5 million pounds of these products for worldwide distribution.

From our original 30 employees in 1971 to today’s nearly 800, 3M Brookings employees are noted for their dedication to quality and productivity. As part of the 3M Health Care Business, 3M Brookings receives research, engineering and marketing support from 3M corporate headquarters in St. Paul, Minnesota.

3M™ Micropore™ Tapes
Microporous, hypoallergenic rayon tape for light and repeated bandaging.

3M™ Durapore™ Tapes
Multipurpose specialty dressing tape. A strong yet "silk-like" hypoallergenic cloth tape with a durable backing, excellent adhesion, conformable, permeable backing.

3M™ Transpore™ Tapes
A general dressing for keeping devices and tubing securely in place. Clear plastic, hypoallergenic and perforated for easy tearing.

3M™ Tegaderm™ Dressings
Hypoallergenic, sterile film dressing which is oxygen and moisture vapor permeable. For use as a dressing for peripheral and IV dressings, for skin protection and as a wound dressing on minor abrasions, superficial pressure ulcers, skin graft donor sites and closed clean surgical wounds.

3M™ Steri-Strips™ Skin Closures
Skin closures tape strips with hypoallergenic, pressure-sensitive adhesive.

3M™ Coban™ Wraps
Non-adhesive elastic wrap which adheres only to itself and provides support and compression. Underwrap for knees, elbows and ankles. 3M™ Coban2 compression wrap is used for leg ulcers.

3M™ Specialty Surgical Drapes
A variety of custom design surgical drapes, including cardiovascular, orthoscopic, cesarean, and ophthalmic.

3M™ Incise Drapes
Anatomically conformable film with hypoallergenic adhesive. Delivered with a liner and in a sterile bag.

3M™ Attest™ Biological Indicators
A biological system used to monitor sterilization.

3M™ Petrifilm™ Plates
With 3M™ Petrifilm™ plates, microbiology testing is done in three simple steps: inoculate, incubate and read. The Petrifilm plate family currently includes plates for aerobic count, E. coli count, coliform count, high-sensitivity coliform count, yeast and mold count, bacteria count and series 2000 rapid coliform count.
