The Air France Project
Seeing Paris through Scotchprint® Graphics
If you have been in Paris lately, you might have noticed the impressive Air France fleet of airport buses. These stylish buses are seen by Parisians on their way to work, tourists enjoying the "City of Light", and professionals
visiting France's capital on business. Clearly, the audience for the fleet buses is huge. And Scotchprint Graphics is behind this stylish success story. Explains Pierre d'Esteve who coordinates this project on behalf of JCDecaux, "Avenir has been working with Air France on this specific advertising activity since 1999. To date, 55 buses of the Air France Parisian fleet have been covered with Scotchprint Graphics, either completely or partially." These buses take travellers to destinations both within the city and to outer suburbs of the Paris region.
What's so special about these buses? They contain high quality printed images depicting a variety of subjects from national flags to herds of running zebras. The symbol of Air France is intrinsically linked with motion and movement. These themes are repeated in the Air France idea of casing their buses with images using Scotchprint Graphics. These images move around the French capital city and provide a means of motion for their passengers.
Durable, effective, and user-friendly, Scotchprint Graphics: the perfect solution
Indeed, d'Esteve is extremely pleased with the results of Scotchprint Graphics on the Air France vehicles, as is the airline itself. "The results that we have achieved using Scotchprint Graphics for this project meet the strict criteria for the highest quality products that JCDecaux is constantly looking for," he says. "And by using Scotchprint Graphics we have been able to meet and surpass our client's requirement for the best quality imagery on their buses."
A short history of Air France
As the oldest air transport company in the country (the Compagnie Générale Transaérienne takes the Air France family tree back to 1909), the Air France brand is as much an icon of French way of life as a slice of Brie accompanied by a glass of Bordeaux. And as such, it is vital for the company to ensure that they portray the right image to their audience.
An image that not only sells their services in the way they want, but also stands for the high quality of service and comfort that their passengers have come to expect. To achieve this, they must work with high quality products and Scotchprint Graphics has been chosen as the right solution to achieve that.
A perfect partner in JCDecaux
Created in 1964, JCDecaux has grown to become of the largest outdoor advertising groups in the world. Look at billboards at bus stops, in airports or simply on the side of the road and chances are they will be carrying the JCDecaux name. Today, JCDecaux has operations in 38 countries and employs 7,400 people to help their customers advertise their products and services. Indeed, with a total of 58,000 advertising panels, present in more than 3,000 cities of more than 10,000 inhabitants, JCDecaux estimates that they reach over 150 million people around the globe with their outdoor advertising.
