Austin Plant History

3M Austin Plant is located in an industrial-zoned area of the Austin metropolitan area with frontage to U.S. Highway 183. Our neighboring area consists of residential housing and corporate industrial parks.

The 3M Austin Plant Site was the site of APC Industries‚ Inc.‚ acquired by 3M in December 1982. Throughout its history‚ the 3M Austin plant has manufactured test equipment for all different types of utilities‚ various connectors‚ splices‚ tools & trays and materials for the electronics industry.
