Thermal conductivity — holding copper cooling tubes to refrigerator panels to help maximize cooling efficiency.
3M(TM) Aluminum Foil Tapes are applied to lengths of the copper tubing, holding evaporator coils tightly to the inner shell or
condenser coils to the outer shell of a refrigerator or freezer. The cavity is then foamed.
Key Application Requirements
Tape must be conformable and thermally conductive to efficiently dissipate heat from the refrigerator.

Helps hold copper tubing: 3M™ Aluminum Foil Tapes functionally hold the copper cooling tubing tight to the inner shell of the refrigerator or freezer until the unit is foamed.
Flexible material: The dead soft 3M™ Aluminum Foil Tapes conform to the coil.
Easy to apply: Pressure-sensitive adhesive is simple and easy to apply manually or automatically on the assembly line.
Thermally conductive: The dead soft aluminum foil tape has excellent thermal conductivity, maximizing the efficiency of cooling by extending the surface area where heat transfer may occur so the compressor doesn’t have to work as hard.
Moisture barrier: Helps seal and protect sensitive assemblies and surfaces from moisture.
Long-term aging: The aging characteristic of the acrylic adhesives allow these products to work well for many long term holding applications.
