3M Introduces New Taping Head for Sealing at Higher Speed

Results are consistent, accurate tape application with faster-than-ever throughput. 3M offers up to a 30% increase in speed with the new 3M™ AccuGlide™ 3 Taping Head.

Introducing the new 3M™ AccuGlide™ 3 Taping Head designed to accurately apply tape at increased line speeds. It is designed for use with 3M-Matic™ Case Sealers and the full range of Scotch® Box Sealing Tapes from 36 mm to 72 mm width, and conveyer speeds up to 100 feet per minute.

The new 3M™ AccuGlide™ 3 Taping Head provides the same high performance characteristics that customers have learned to expect from 3M taping heads, including secure and reliable sealing for cartons of all weights, but now with a substantial increase in efficiency.

Like previous models, the 3M™ AccuGlide™ 3 is designed with a low-profile side plate and open tape path for faster, easier threading. The lightweight taping head features easy-to-follow instructional labeling, clearly identifying the tape path.

A patented tape drum latch secures the tape roll for stability and positive tape alignment, and includes a press-to-release feature for quick roll changes. The friction brake drum maintains proper tape tension and prevents overcoasting for smooth, secure tape application.

The 3M™ AccuGlide™ 3 is constructed of powder-epoxy-coated steel, offering durability and long-term reliability. The patented curvilinear design for low impact helps protect cartons and contents against damage.

The 3M™ AccuGlide™ 3 becomes standard in 2009 in all 3M-Matic™ Case Sealers except the Intro-Series.
