High performance films provide durability in dot matrix printed labels
3M™ Dot Matrix Label Materials are pressure sensitive label stocks designed for use in dot matrix printers. Label constructions use performance adhesives and printable facestock coatings that provide durability for variable information.
• Polyester films provide high tensile strength and excellent dimensional stability. Biaxially-oriented, they have high tear resistance, but are notch sensitive. Offering optimal clarity for overlaminate applications, they have excellent outdoor durability as and chemical and moisture resistance. Not recommended for curved surfaces. Available in white, clear and metallized.
• Polypropylene films are semi-hard with high tear resistance and good dimensional stability. They have high tensile strength, but are notch sensitive. They offer good conformability, outdoor durability and good chemical and moisture resistance. Available in white, clear, metallized, and matte clear.
• Vinyl films are available in flexible, semi-rigid or rigid constructions for multiple purposes. While they burn in a flame, they are self-extinguishing when removed. They have low tear resistance and dimensional stability yet offer excellent conformability, good moisture resistance and outdoor durability. Available in white, clear, black, yellow and translucent. Available in medical grades.
• Corona treated films offer outstanding surface smoothness and tear resistance and can be used in flexographic and offset printing.
