3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive DP100NS Translucent Duo-Pak
3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive DP100NS Translucent Duo-Pak
3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive 100NS is a non-sag, two-part epoxy adhesive of moderate to high viscosity that remains exactly where placed. This enables precise application and eliminates slump or spread, even when applied to vertical surfaces.
  • Adhesive formula dries rigid for a fixed adhesion in non-moving bonding applications
  • High shear and peel strengths ensures a durable and permanent bond
  • Fast drying epoxy that sets in about 15 minutes at room temperature
  • Effective adhesive system bonds, joins, glues, attaches, assembles and encapsulates

Overview

Our 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive 100NS is a versatile structural adhesive that performs well in both heat and in adverse weather conditions. It works on a variety of substrates including metals, ceramics, concrete and wood. With a high shear and peel strength it delivers a strong, rigid performance, making it ideal for a wide variety of applications in the transportation, specialty vehicle, electrical, general industrial, construction, and consumer goods industries.

Two Parts, One Common Bond
The mix ratio is 1:1 for quick, precise dispensing, and with a 3- to 5-minute working time there's some opportunity for repositioning to keep projects on track. The adhesive reaches handling strength in approximately 20 minutes and is fully cured in 48 hours (at 72°F/22°C). This product is available in both bulk and Duo-Pak form.

Structurally Strong, What are Epoxies?
Epoxy adhesives are part of the class of adhesives called "structural adhesives," which also includes polyurethane, acrylic, cyanoacrylate, and others. Epoxies begin as reactive liquid polymers that undergo a chemical reaction when mixed, and then cure to form a solid plastic material. Once the two parts are mixed in their specified ratio, they begin the curing process and offer a limited working time where the adhesive can be applied and the two surfaces positioned as need. This "work life" lasts anywhere from a few minutes to hours or longer. This class of structural adhesives provides high shear and peel strengths, depending on the formula and better heat and chemical resistance than other common adhesives. Epoxies that are heat cured are more heat and chemical resistant than those that cure at room temperature. Epoxy adhesives are widely used in building and home construction, aircraft and automobile manufacture, bicycle, boat, golf clubs, ski, and snowboard assembly and a host of home use and other applications; virtually anywhere high-strength bonds are needed along with resistance to environmental conditions. These adhesives are popular for their ease of use, mechanical strength, and chemical resistance. Formulations can be created to make epoxies that are flexible or rigid, transparent or opaque, quick setting or slow setting. The versatility with which epoxy adhesives can be formulated helps meet almost any requirement for bonding wood, metal, glass, stone, and various plastics.

Industrial uses for epoxies range widely and include coatings, adhesives, and composite materials like carbon fiber and glass-reinforced plastic. They are the preferred choice for their ability to flow and conform to the work area, strong adhesion, chemical and heat resistance, and exceptional mechanical and electrical insulating properties.
