Overview

Non-Sag Adhesion with Excellent Impact Strength
3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Acrylic Adhesive 8410NS is a non-sag acrylic adhesive with a 10:1 mix ratio. It features a 10 minute work life to allow time to position substrates prior to adhesion. This working life, open time and cure length can be altered with heat to increase or decrease the cure time. Once fully cured, this adhesive will reach 1,000 psi of overlap shear strength in approximately 25 minutes, increasing throughput and productivity while featuring a high peel and impact performance. Full cure will be reached within 24 hours. With non-sag properties you're assured the adhesive is applied exactly where you want it and won't migrate during the application or bonding processes. 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Acrylic Adhesive 8410NS bonds well too many materials, including most plastics, metals and oily surfaces. The bond created with this adhesive is durable and features excellent shear strength and impact resistance.

Recommended Applications

  • Various applications in the transportation industry such as adhering metal skins to metal frames, composite cab assembly, frame assembly, floor panel bonding, exterior panel bonding and roof bonding
  • Metalworking applications
  • Bonding plastics and composites
  • Sign manufacturing, such as panel to frame bonding, trim attachment, letter bonding, frame assembly and seam sealing
  • HVAC applications such as attaching floor panel and drain pans to frames, side wall attachment or bonding stiffeners to panels
  • Bonding slightly oily surfaces

Easy Adhesion with Acrylic
Acrylic adhesives are two-part adhesives that provide excellent bond strength and durability, although slightly lower than epoxy adhesives in some situations. However, they have several features that make them easier to use, including a much faster cure speed, higher tolerance for oily or unprepared bonding surfaces and the ability to bond a wide variety of materials, including nearly all plastics. Newer acrylic adhesive formulations are room temperature stable with a long shelf life.
