Overview

The tape is protected with a 58 lb. polycoated kraft paper liner and is ideal for a wide range of applications and uses such as closing polybags and envelopes, core starting/end tabbing, attaching graphics in backlit signs, to attach labels, novelties, posters, P.O.P. displays and more.

3M™ Adhesive 420 is an acrylic, high tack (“permanent”) adhesive used on the face side (interior of roll) of the tape. In this configuration, the protective liner covers the medium tack adhesive while the high tack adhesive is exposed as the tape is unwound. The high tack adhesive side is then applied to the surface for "permanent" placement and the liner can be removed when needed. Our 3M™ Adhesive 420 provides very high adhesion to a wide variety of materials, excellent holding power. It also gives you the ability to make adhesive bonds at temperatures as low as 32 degrees F/0 degrees C.

3M™ Adhesive 1050 is the medium tack adhesive used on the back side (exterior of roll). It is an acrylic adhesive that provides a secure, temporary seal and allows you to remove and reposition or replace the joined surfaces as needed. It allows clean removal from many foils, films and other surfaces without leaving adhesive residue. In many cases, you can reuse the tape numerous times. By using a robust 58 lb. poly coated kraft paper release liner, our tape provides reliable performance for industrial applications, such as die-cutting and automated dispensers. The moisture-stable liner also helps reduce edge roll and protects the tape from humidity extremes. The UPVC film carrier improves the handling and strength of the tape, provides dimensional stability, improved handling for die cutting and laminating, as well as the ability to hot wire cut.

What is Double Coated Tape?
In general, double coated tape is composed of a paper, film, or tissue carrier that is coated on both sides with pressure sensitive adhesive. The adhesive is protected by a peel-away liner that can be removed at the time of application or left in place until the joining surfaces are ready to be attached. These tapes can be applied by hand or with a dispenser. Double coated tape dispensers are available in a variety of configurations ranging from manual to fully automatic. Applications for double coated tape are found in construction, fabrication, arts, and hobby.
