The tape is manufactured using our 3M™ Adhesive 100 for a strong, permanent bond that works with the open-cell foam structure to produce high shear strength. This tape is a great solution for bonding various surfaces indoors or for exterior applications where it will be protected from the environment. Its conformable foam and adhesive combine to provide long-term holding at temperatures up to 2200/1040C. The acrylic adhesive is an ideal formula for bonding various types of surfaces for mounting, joining and holding applications. By using a robust 62 lb. densified kraft paper release liner, this tape provides you with reliable performance for industrial applications, such as die-cutting and automated dispensers. The liner also helps reduce edge roll and protects the tape from humidity extremes.
What is Open Cell Foam?
Open cell foams are commonly used between component panels where a degree of separation is needed to dampen or prevent vibration, as a thermal insulation barrier and protect against contamination, but where a measure of airflow is still necessary, such as with electronic components where air flow helps keep components cool.
