Double Coated Polyester Film Tape 444
Double Coated Polyester Film Tape 444
3M™ Double Coated Tape 444 is a 3.9 mil clear, double coated tape that uses our 3M™ High Strength Acrylic Adhesive 300 to create effective bonds to low surface energy (LSE) substrates, powder coated paints and oily metals. It features a thin 0.5 mil Clear Polyester Film (PET) carrier on a 3 mil white 55 lb. densified kraft (DK) paper liner.
  • Clear, double coated tape provides high initial adhesion to accommodate high production environments
  • Quick flowing adhesive speeds lamination of textured plastics, foams, fabrics, and coated papers
  • Aggressively bonds to many surfaces, including plastics like polyethylene and fulfills multiple uses
  • Caliper-controlled hard liner for consistent base in rotary printing and die cutting of labels.
  • Film carrier adds dimensional stability to substrates and also provides easier handling during slitting and die-cutting

The carrier adds dimensional stability to the joining components and the release liner improves handling and is ideal for die-cutting and laminating applications. Our adhesive has excellent solvent resistance and is ideal for joining materials that are relatively smooth, thin and have low residual stress. It provides you with excellent adhesion for plastics and polyethylene in electronics, general industrial, appliances, medical devices, power tools, automotive, transportation and aerospace related applications.

Enduring Bond
3M™ Adhesive 300 is a medium-firm acrylic adhesive system featuring both high initial adhesion and good UV and chemical resistance and strong holding power. The design of the adhesive combined with the film carrier results in a balance between shear strength, high initial adhesion and temperature performance. Shear strength is the measure of pull force directed across the bonded surface, forcing the two surfaces to slide over each other. The formulation gives 3M™ Adhesive 300 a consistently strong bond across a range of temperatures, up to 250 degrees F. A thin, tough, polyester film carrier between the adhesive layers improves the handling and strength of the tape. By using a robust 55 lb. densified kraft paper release liner, this tape provides reliable performance for industrial applications, such as die-cutting and automated dispensers.

What is Double Coated Tape? In general, double coated tape is composed of a paper, film, or tissue carrier that is coated on both sides with pressure sensitive adhesive. The adhesive is protected by a peel-away liner that can be removed at the time of application or left in place until the joining surfaces are ready to be attached. These tapes can be applied by hand or with a dispenser. Double coated tape dispensers are available in a variety of configurations ranging from manual to fully automatic. Applications for double coated tape are found in construction, fabrication, arts, and hobby.
