Splicing together flame-retardant panels to seal cargo area. 3M™ Glass Cloth Tape 398FR is used to seal thermal and acoustic insulation panels when high adhesion and flame resistance are needed.
Aerospace equipment manufacturers design airplanes to withstand cargo fires by lining cargo area with flame-retardant panels. Based on government regulations, these panels are required to be spliced together with a flame-retardant tape to completely seal cargo area. Tape must be durable, flame-retardant splicing tape that meets required government and aerospace industry regulatory.
