Support Wrap

3M is an industry leader in the development of equine support wrap materials and techniques.

The horse, the veterinarian and the client are the beneficiaries of 3M's Research and Development program. 3M pioneered the use of motion analysis and biomechanical models to document the ability of 3M™ Equisport™ Equine Support Bandage to absorb energy and reduce fatigue of racing thoroughbreds.

The Figure-Eight Splint Bandage technique was developed as part of the Equisport bandage program. This technique, incorporating two vertical splints made of wrap along the flexor tendon, absorbs 50% more energy than a conventional figure eight bandage of the same material without splints.
