3M's international experience in countries using ICD-10
Hospital records in Australia, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom and many other countries are already coded using ICD-10. Many hospitals in these countries trust the 3M™ Codefinder™ Software to complete the job. They know their ICD-10 data help shape their budgets and reputations.

3M's ICD-10 preparation
3M began working more than a decade ago, under contract with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), to design and develop the ICD-10 Procedure Coding System (ICD-10-PCS). 3M continues to maintain ICD-10-PCS by revising it to reflect new technologies, procedures and innovations.
More recently—again under contract with CMS and the National Center for Health Statistics—3M developed the official crosswalk/mappings between ICD-10 and ICD-9 that are available now on the CMS website.
