3M™ Novec™ 1700 Electronic Grade Coating
This coating is easy to apply and dries to a thin transparent film. The low surface energy film repels liquids such as lubricating oils, silicones and photoresist solutions used in the manufacturing of semiconductors. This coating requires no masking in most applications, and it air-dries in seconds.
3M™ Novec™ 1702 Electronic Grade Coating
This coating can be used in the disk drive, MEMS and TFT-LCD industries to provide anti-wetting, anti-stiction, anti-migration and anti-corrosion properties.
3M™ Novec™ 1720 Electronic Grade Coating
3M™ Novec™ 1720 Electronic Grade Coating is designed for easy clean and anti-smudge capabilities on a variety of surfaces such as glass flat panel displays and mobile electronic device components. It is a clear, low viscosity, low surface tension solution of a 0.1 wt% fluorosilane polymer carried in a hydrofluoroether solvent. The coating dries to a thin, transparent, permanent film with excellent hydrophobic and oleophobic properties. It covalently bonds to glass and metal oxide layers and protects steel, aluminum, composites and a variety of other surfaces. The coating can air-dry in seconds and needs to be thermally post-cured for optimal performance.
3M™ Novec™ 2702 Electronic Grade Coating
A fluorochemical polymer coating carried in a nonflammable solvent, Novec coating EGC-2702 cures to a thin transparent film with excellent anti-wetting, anti-stiction, anti-migration, and anti-corrosion properties required in many diverse applications.
3M™ Novec™ 2788 Electronic Grade Coating
3M™ Novec™ 2788 Electronic Grade Coating is designed for particle suppression in hard disk drives and can significantly reduce the particles shed from substrates. It can be used to replace electroless nickel and e-coats, filling in rough features on substrates, and trapping particles that are difficult to remove by standard cleaning processes. It is a yellow-dyed, low viscosity, low surface tension solution of a 15 wt% fluorochemical polymer carried in a hydrofluoroether solvent. It dries to a permanent film that covalently bonds to glass and metal oxides. It needs to be thermally post-cured. It is UV detectable and adhesives or labels will adhere to its surface.

Electronics – Protecting Printed Circuit Boards and Electronic/Electrical Components Novec electronic grade coatings are used to protect printed circuit boards and electronic devices from moisture, chemicals and corrosion. These fast-drying, low surface energy coatings reduce processing time and can provide excellent coverage even under low clearance components. They are available in air dry and post-cure varieties. They can also be difficult to clean. Novec electronic grade coatings offer an effective alternative to conventional hydrophobic or hydrophilic protective coatings. They are easier to apply, air dry in seconds and are cured for durable performance. Learn more about protecting electronic displays, devices and components.Electronics – Protecting Hard Disk DrivesParticles within a hard disk drive can destroy it or the information it contains. Cleaning away these particles can be extremely difficult and can significantly reduce the agelife of the drive. Novec electronic grade coatings can be used to replace electroless nickel and e-coats, fill in rough features on substrates, and trap particles that are difficult to remove by standard cleaning processes.
