Rivets and Welds
Since the invention of automobiles, rivets and welds have been used to build frames and adhere to them. One of the major applications using ring rivets and welds is door trim molding - and with rivets and weld come rust. Everywhere a rivet goes down a door panel is susceptible to corrosion and rust.

3M™ Masking Tape
Today, 3M offers a wide range of masking tape for just about any surface, including automotive refinishing, weather resistant tapes, fine line masking and striping tapes, textile tape, large area and many more.

3M™ Di-Noc™ Film
In 1949 -- at the height of the popularity of cars with wood-grained paneling (or “woodies”) – 3M invented 3M™ Di-Noc™ film to give cars the same look more easily and economically.

3M™ Crystalline Window Film
Today’s window film contains no metal, which offers great visibility and amazingly high reflection of ultraviolet light and heat. 3M™ Crystalline Window Film preserves your car, keeps you cool and doesn’t block visibility. You can even customize the amount of visible light. And no metal means your windows won’t block GPS signals, garage door openers or EZ pass signals at toll booths.

Tinted Windows
In 1966, 3M was awarded the first patent for window tinting. The idea was to use a metal mirror with holes in it to reflect a certain percentage of the sun’s radiation back to keep heat out of the car.

3M Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film
Protect your vehicle’s paint finish from harsh conditions like sand, road debris and bugs and lose the auto “undergarments.” Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film is a rugged, virtually invisible urethane barrier that helps keep paint looking great, reduces damage to the finish and keeps your vehicle looking better longer.

NASCAR
The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing was created in 1947 when Bill France, Sr., organized a meeting of stock car promoters to form a sanctioning body. The first NASCAR-sanctioned race was held in Daytona Beach in 1948 and the organization was formally incorporated just days later.

Over the years NASCAR has made stars of many drivers and teams and has built bigger and better races by incorporating sponsors. NASCAR sanctions more than 1,500 races each year in the United States and Canada and has presented exhibition races around the world. Learn more about NASCAR.
