3M Offers New Higher Gloss Overlaminate

St. Paul, MN (April 11, 2007) — The 3M Graphics Market Center announces the release of a new higher gloss version of its 3M™ Scotchcal™ Gloss Overlaminate 8518 designed for vehicle wraps and other applications requiring high gloss and superior conformability.

The improved product is available in two new sizes — 48.5-inches and 60-inches — in addition to the current 54-inch width.

"The higher gloss level and new widths provide even more value to our customers," said Jared Johnson, marketing supervisor, 3M Graphics Market Center. "The film is being widely used in vehicle wraps. The higher gloss level will further increase the desired paint-like look. And the new 60-inch width will help eliminate seams on vehicle hoods, roofs and sides."

This soft, 2-mil cast film is specifically designed and optimized for use with 3M™ Controltac™ Graphic Film with 3M™ Comply™ v2 Adhesive to provide the highest quality digital graphics on wrapped vehicles. The highly conformable overlaminate, when used with 3M approved portfolio of graphic films with Comply adhesive, is fast and easy to install and provides excellent conformability to complex curves and deep channels.

Overlaminate 8518 has up to a three-year limited warranty under the 3M Performance Guarantee when 3M films and qualified 3M and non-3M inks are used on approved digital printer platforms.
