3M is bringing cold shrink technology—the cold-applied insulating technology it pioneered—to high voltage with the 3M™ Termination Kit QT-III 7672-S-8 for 69kV. This innovation provides the well-known reliability of 3M cold shrink technology to high-voltage applications. Once installed, cold shrink tubes create a dynamic, compressive environmental seal and electrical interface without sealants or adhesives.
The 7672-S-8 termination kit is designed to terminate 650-mil power cable to up 69kV/72kV. It covers conductor size range of 250 to 2000 kcmil (125 to 1000 mm2). It meets or exceeds the requirements of IEEE 48, Class 1 for 69kV; IEC 60849 for 72,5kV; and applications requiring 350kV BIL performance levels.
