3M Super 77 furniture project: childs bench and toybox
Use 3M™ Super 77™ Multipurpose Adhesive to transform an unremarkable piece of furniture into a playful, functional piece for a child's room.

Although this project uses fabric, there’s no sewing required, so you save time. 3M™ Super 77™ Multipurpose Adhesive provides a strong bond that is tough enough for a kid's playroom.

  Instructions

Tools and materials

  • 3M™ Super 77™ Multipurpose Adhesive
  • Child-size unfinished or antique box
  • Fabric
  • Tape measure
  • Scissors
  • Cardboard
  • 2" foam 

How-to

  1. Cut foam to fit seat area.
  2. Cut fabric to fit foam, with 2-3" of excess all the way around.
  3. Protect surfaces from overspry with newspaper, plastic or craft paper.
  4. Follow directions on can and work in a well-ventilated area. Spray foam and fabric with 3M™ Super 77™ Multipurpose Adhesive.
  5. Wait 30 seconds and press fabric to foam, wrapping excess fabric around to the back.
  6. Measure front piece of chest; cut cardboard to fit.
  7. Cut fabric to fit cardboard, with 1-2" of excess all the way around. Spray back side of fabric and cardboard with 3M™ Super 77™ Multipurpose Adhesive.
  8. Wait 30 seconds and press together, wrapping fabric around to back on all sides.
  9. Mask off areas of chest to be sprayed. Spray front of chest and fabric/cardboard piece.
  10. Wait 30 seconds and bond piece to chest.
  11. Enjoy the attractive, sturdy results!
