CUNO Incorporated Changes Name to 3M Purification Inc

MERIDEN, Connecticut - January 1, 2010 - CUNO Incorporated, a subsidiary of 3M(NYSE:MMM), recently announced its name change to 3M Purification Inc.

3M acquired the filtration company in 2005, and the name change reflects the successful integration of CUNO’s technology with 3M’s global reach. The result is an innovative portfolio of complete, integrated filtration solutions for the purification of liquids and gases.

"3M has delivered on its brand promise of innovative products of the highest quality for more than one hundred years," remarked Tony Theunissen, General Manager of 3M Purification Inc., "and we want our customers to understand that this brand promise accompanies every solution we offer."

3M Purification serves customers in multiple markets through four strategic business units: Healthcare, Residential/Commercial Water & Air, Industrial, and Appliance.

In addition to the name change, 2010 promises to be a banner year for many of 3M Purification’s core businesses. In addition to the release of new-to-world purification technologies in markets such as biotech and electronics, the company also recently announced the launch of a residential water filtration line focused on meeting the needs of homeowners.
