Vaccines (Egg Based and Virus Inactivation)
Applications in the production of egg based and inactivated virus vaccines.
All vaccines have at least two common elements: they must be immunogenic and they must be produced in a highly purified form to be safely administered to recipients. Numerous filtration steps are critical in helping to achieve the latter element. Important steps in producing vaccines based on chicken eggs and virus inactivation include removal impurities in the solution, protection of downstream chromatography columns, and final sterilizing grade filtration.
The following table outlines 3M Purification solutions for various process steps.
