Vaccines (Recombinant Protein Based)
Applications in the production of recombinant protein based vaccines.
All vaccines have at least two common elements: they must be immunogenic and they must be produced in a highly purified form to be safely administered to recipients. Numerous filtration steps are critical in helping to achieve the latter element. Important steps in producing vaccines based on recombinant proteins include clarification of the cell culture after fermentation, removal of Host Cell Protein (HCP) and DNA, and final sterilizing grade filtration.
The following table outlines 3M Purification solutions for various process steps.
