3M's patented carbon block technology is best in class because of its unique bonding structure. Through the use of tightly controlled raw materials, our products form a matrix of carbon, heavy metal scavenging media, polymer binder, and other materials. Advances in technology have allowed us to greatly reduce the size of the carbon block, while achieving the same, or similar claims.

3M has been making products that utilize particles and granules for generations. These products may have multiple formats such as low pressure and gravity feed applications to remove chlorine taste and odor. A combination of sediment, ion exchange, and organic reduction media is also available for customization.

Developed using innovative 3M technologies, 3M's family of HAF filters are constructed from an array of open flow channels and are self supporting. These filters are electrostatically-charged for enhanced particle capture and retention.
