The Powered and Supplied Air (P&SA) respirator systems in this selector are NIOSH approved systems that help protect against certain airborne contaminants. Certain system configurations may also meet the requirements of the ANSI Z87.1 standard for eye and face protective devices and/or the ANSI Z89.1 standard for industrial head protection. Before use, the wearer must read and understand the User Instructions provided as a part of the product packaging. A written respiratory protection program must be implemented meeting all the requirements of US OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 including training, fit testing (if using a tight-fitting facepiece) and medical evaluation. According to OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 powered and supplied air respirator systems have an Assigned Protection Factor (APF) of 25 to 1000 depending on the system configuration. Consult the User Instructions or 3M™ Technical Data Bulletin #175 (www.3M.com/PPESafety) for additional information on APFs. (Add for Canada Selector: In Canada, CSA standards Z94.4 requirements must be met and/or requirements of the applicable jurisdiction, as appropriate.)
In the US, employers must also comply with the OSHA personal protective equipment (PPE) standard (29 CFR 1910.132) and, as applicable, the eye and face standard (29 CFR 1910.133) and the head protection standard (29 CFR 1910.135).
Outside the U.S., consult the authority having jurisdiction in your country for respiratory selection requirements.
