There Are Three Key Components
To provide education funding
To help fund rehabilitation for our wounded veterans
Help drive employment in the collision repair industry for veterans and their families
3M recognizes the need for qualified technicians in the collision repair industry and is creating an opportunity for returning veterans to find rewarding careers with the right education and support.
3M Automotive Aftermarket Division's "Hire Our Heroes" campaign will help provide training and support for our nation's returning veterans and their families.
A 3M Foundation grant supports the USO's United Through Service program, which connects separated military families through the bonding experience of reading aloud.
Through this program, military parents read to their children on camera from ships, bases, camps and USO sites around the world.
When children see their mom or dad reading a story, just as if they were sitting at home together, it provides reassurance and an emotional connection with their deployed mom or dad.
Serving Our Troops
The 3M Foundation supported the Serving Our Troops event where volunteers traveled to Kuwait to serve dinner to the 1st Brigade Combat Team Red Bull Soldiers. Local Minnesota family members were included via live video link.
Girl Scout Cookie Drive for Deployed Troops
A vet recalled how memorable it was to receive Girl Scout cookies while he was deployed. 3M employees pulled together to write over 100 personalized notes of appreciation and purchase 1,872 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to send over to our troops!
Memorial Day Event
On May 30, 2012, 3M employees remembered those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces and are deceased. The flags were positioned around the large flag pole at the 3M Center in St. Paul in remembrance and as a reminder to all of Memorial Day.
