3M has offered innovative and customized solutions to meet the growing needs of customers in the diverse Caribbean region since 1960, when 3M Puerto Rico began servicing customers. Offices in Jamaica followed this in 1971. 3M opened in Trinidad in 1973 and from there supplies Barbados, Grenada, St. Vincent, St. Lucia, Suriname, Dominica, Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire, Guyana, and the Cayman Islands. In 1974, 3M Dominicana was added to the region with services in Santo Domingo, Santiago, San Pedro de Macoris and La Romana.

Today, employees at these locations, as well as an extensive distributor network, combine technical, sales and marketing expertise to provide solutions to many markets:
