3M™ Opticlude™ Orthoptic Eye Patches are used for treating childhood strabismus and amblyopia. Worn over the preferred eye, the eye patch encourages the weaker eye to function. The patch has a non-woven microporous backing which lets the skin breathe and function normally. The hypoallergenic adhesive is gentle to the child's skin. A central non-adherent pad prevents eye secretions sticking the pad to the eye.

Featuring a hypoallergenic 3M™ Micropore™ Tape backing, Opticlude eye patches can be applied and removed easily with minimal skin trauma, whilst the unique pressure sensitive adhesive secures the patch throughout the occlusion period. The non-adherent pad is absorbent and prevents lacrimal secretions adhering the pad to the surrounding skin, whilst the Micropore tape backing allows the skin to breathe normally. In addition the thin lightweight design needs no shaping, folding or cutting, and its skin tone colour helps to make the patch more cosmetically acceptable.
