Touch Screens put you in control...

In situations such as a large security network or traffic monitoring network, touch screens can help staff at a central control room react quickly and accurately to events such as an intruder alert, or congestion and accidents occurring on roads under surveillance.

For example, a security guard can seal off an area where an alarm has been triggered, simply by pointing to the relevant areas presented graphically on a touch screen. With no need to locate and wield a mouse, or remember and key-in commands via a keypad, the guard can act faster than the intruder, to contain the threat safely and call for backup.

In traffic control stations, staff can quickly adjust variable speed limits to optimise traffic flow, select and post driver information to roadside or gantry-mounted matrix displays, or direct emergency services more quickly and accurately via a touch screen than using a keyboard/mouse combination. The highly intuitive nature of touch screens results in a reduction in staff training overheads that are often associated with complex security systems.
