Bandages for the Treatment of Leg Ulcers
The treatment of leg ulcers, a chronic condition, has been estimated to cost the NHS between £300M and £600M a year. Leg ulcers can be caused by a number of physiological or biochemical disorders, but the majority, approximately 70%, are associated with venous disease and are suitable for treatment with the new, unique compression system from 3M Health Care. The 3M™ Coban™ 2 Layer Compression System is a comfortable, easy to apply compression system that delivers sustained, therapeutic compression for the treatment of venous leg ulcers and related conditions such as lower leg oedema.

An Innovation in Compression Bandaging
Compression bandaging has been the mainstay of treatment of venous ulcers for over 15 years. The new Coban 2 Layer Compression System is entirely latex-free and is designed to provide easier application (PDF, 414.7K) for clinicians and improved comfort for your patients. This encourages better concordance and increased mobility and activity, resulting in a more efficient and cost-effective venous ulcer treatment regime. You can view a virtual sample of the new Coban 2 Layer Compression System and download a number of compression bandage resources to support you including application and removal instructions (PDF, 397KB) and a patient information leaflet. The Original 3M™ Coban ™ Self-Adherent Bandage
Available in a wide range of patient-pleasing colours, the original Coban self-adherent bandage sticks only to itself and not to skin or hair. Used for compression bandaging, sprain bandaging, strains and oedema control, the original Coban bandage is also suitable for securing dressings and devices.
