Creating a treatment plan
No plan yet? First you have a consultation.
You get a consultation at the orthodontist before actual treatment starts. You discuss what braces are best for you. The orthodontist works that out through various examinations. He examines the shape of your face and mouth exactly, and also does some function tests to see how your tongue, lips and jaw joint move. No fear: They aren't bad or painful. Having analysed the examinations, the orthodontist creates a treatment plan together with you and your parents. This describes what braces you'll get and roughly how long your treatment will take.
