Designs on Gold Standard: 3Mers awarded prestigious industry qualifications
Two more 3Mers from the Electro and Communications business have been awarded a prestigious industry qualification in network design.
European product manager Rosemary McGlashon and channel account manager Sandra Farrell have both achieved Registered Communications Distribution Designer status from BICSI – the leading trade association for the cabling industry.
Rosemary and Sandra attended two residential courses and put in 125 hours of private study to pass the professional qualification which is recognised throughout the industry as the gold standard for network design.
They are four 3Mers globally to earn the status, which can take specialists uch as architects, electrical engineers and interior designers up to three years to achieve.
Says Rosemary: “We are now qualified to design data cabling systems for private networks, covering all areas of building management such as telephone and internet connections and fire alarms. This means that we are able to extend the sales support we offer to customers to network design as well as training and technical support. We are also able to check that systems our customers design themselves comply with industry standards.
“As the qualification is highly regarded by the industry, it has enabled us to enhance our services offered to the Electro and Communications market. Customers have been happy to see that 3M has supported us in achieving this status.”
