Team3M is moving up the charts…

Team3M riders Mike Terpstra and Jimmy Janssens did a great job in the last weekend of March. Mike Terpstra finished 7th in the Pro-race Volta Limburg Classic (1.1), better known as the ‘Hel van Mergelland’.

After 200 kilometers the Dutch climber was in the leading group of 22 riders. At the beginning of the final a group of 5 riders attacked. On the last mountains, with 50 kilometers to go,  a group with our Mike attacked and closed the gap to the 5 leaders. A group of 22 riders came together with big names like Bram Tankink (NED), Davide Rebellin (ITA) and former Dutch champion Pim Ligthart. In the flat final near Eijsden (Maastricht) the Russian Worldtour-team Katusha was controlling the group,  to have a lead-out for their sprinter Rüdiger Selig (GER). Selig finished the job of Katusha by winning the sprint before Sonny Colbrelli (ITA, Bardiani Valvole) and Paul Martens (GER, Blanco Procycling). Mike Terpstra sprinted to a 7th place in this pro-race. The first top-10 place for Team3M in a 1.1 race on pro-level.

In Belgium the other half of the continental Team3M was riding the 18th Le Triptyque des Monts et Châteaux (2.2). The second day was the most  important of the three days. The first stage was  a sprint with a big bunch, won by Jorne Carolus (BEL, Lotto-Belisol u23) and a 15th place for Team3M-rider Lewis Rigaux.
On the second day there were two stages. In the morning a individual time trial over 10 kilometers. Iin the afternoon a mountain stage.  The best rider for Team3M  in the time trial was Jimmy Janssens  on place number 28,  28 seconds slower than winner Edward Theuns (BEL, VL Techniek).  In the mountain stage Team3M did a good job with Frederik Verkinderen and Jimmy Janssens in the headgroup. Verkinderen finished 10th and Jimmy Janssens 16th in the stage won by Lawson Craddock (USA).
With the 16th place in stage 2b Jimmy Janssens took the 11th place in the General classification. The last stage on day 3 was again a sprint with the peloton. Florent Mottet (BEL, Color code) won the sprint, Tom Goovaerts was 12th. With the sprint no changes in the General classification were happening so Jimmy Janssens kept the 11th place in the final Classification at 28 seconds behind winner Fabio Silvestre (POR, Leopard). \
