 First victory for Team3M by Tom Goovaerts

Tom Goovaerts has won the criterium 'Ronde van Woensdrecht' (The Netherlands) on the 17th of march. In the race over 88 kilometers by 55 rounds Tom Goovaerts finished solo after good teamwork by Team3M. It was a hard race because every round the riders had to take a small climb of 400 meters.

In the middle of the race, with 100 starters, a group of 20 riders was riding away from the bunch. In this group Team3M was represented with Michael Vingerling, Mike Terpstra and Tom Goovaerts. With 30 kilometers to go Mike Terpstra attacked and closed a gap of 25 seconds to two riders. The three guys in the front with Mike Terpstra were working good together. It was looking that the winner was in the front. But in the finale the first group was closing the gap. That was a sign for Tom Goovaerts to jump to the first guys. Tom Goovaerts and Mike Terpstra were with two guys in the front in a group of four. With 8 kilometer to go Mike Terpstra and Tom Goovaerts were attacking and the attack of Tom Goovaerts was the good one. The first group with Michael Vingerling and Mike Terpstra had lost some riders. All the attacks behind Goovaerts were defending by his teammates and Tom Goovaerts won by 30 second. In the sprint of the first group Vingerling took the 4th place and Mike Terpstra was last of the first group with a 9th place. Joop de Gans finished in the bunch at a 32nd place.
