"Our aim in choosing bespoke furniture was to fit the design to the way we wished to manage self-service process in Northamptonshire. In particular we wanted to minimise the handling of stock by library staff and to make using the self-check units as easy and intuitive as possible for customers. Therefore we wanted a unit which had one return bin only (for requested items, stock from other branches etx) and which allowed us to position a returns trolley alongside".
"Customers return branch stock to the trolley themselves and are also able to choose stock from the trolley, reducing the stock which has to be shelved by library staff. The look of the furniture was also very important and a bespoke design allowed us to match finishes to our new PayPoints and Information pods".
