Economic crisis: Can we reduce healthcare budgets any further without reducing quality of care?
Geert P. Driessen - 3M Senior Scientific Specialist

Friday, April 27th, 2012
13:30h - 15:00h
Auditorium II

Symposium Content: Healthcare institutions from all over the world are currently facing the consequences of the worldwide economic crisis. Due to that economic crisis the (government) budgets for the public sector are decreased or in best case frozen to a “pre-economic crisis level”. Other factors like demographic changes resulting in a higher demand of healthcare, an increased empowerment of patients in general and further technological developments, are putting healthcare budgets under even more pressure.

The presentation will focus on how general healthcare budgets and especially budgets of an OR department can be reduced without reducing the quality of care.
