The 3M™ Surgical Clipper 9661 is our newest clipper product. It combines the benefits of the original 9604 Clipper with a pivoting head for good manoeuvrability on awkward body contours.
The 3M™ Surgical Clipper 9661 is quicker and more comfortable for patients than using a razor. Cross contamination is eliminated by the use of single-use blades. The blades cut just above the skin, avoiding nicks and cuts. Skin trauma and resulting infection is dramatically reduced compared to razor preparation (Wesley Alexander, 1983). The Saving Lives document published by the Department of Health (2006) recommends using a clipper with a disposable head. No shaving with a razor. Combating infection with clipping could help your hospital make significant savings by reducing the length of unnecessary patient stays.
