Primer Sanding


Apply 3M™ Dry Guide Coat to primed surface

Step 1

Apply 3M™ Dry Guide Coat to primed surface.

Wipe on Wipe off Spirit Wipe to prepared areas

Step 2

Hand block repaired area with a 3M™ Hookit™ II Abrasive Sheet P320.

 
Sand awkward primed areas

Step 3

Sand awkward areas with 3M™ 216U P600/P800 or Soft Back™ Sanding Sponge Superfine.

Re-apply 3M Dry Guide Coat

Step 4

Re-apply 3M™ Dry Guide Coat. Machine sand area using 3M™ Hookit™ Abrasive Disc P400 for solid colours or P500 for light base coats.

 
Adjacent panels can be prepared using 3M Scotch-Brite™

Step 5

Adjacent panels can be prepared by hand using 3M Scotch-Brite™ with a waterbourne degreaser or by machine using a 3M Scotch-Brite™ Grey Disc.

 
Again check repair, blow and wipe all surfaces

Step 6

Again check repair, blow and wipe all surfaces in preparation for topcoat masking.
