Extreme conditions demand special materials: 3M™ Dyneon™ fluoropolymers are heat and chemical resistant materials that are excellent for processing into gaskets. Gaskets and seals made from PTFE (polytetrafluorethylenes), PTFE-based compounds, or fluorelastomers are found in the chemical and petrochemical industry, in plant engineering, and especially in vehicle and aircraft manufacture. The high temperatures and pressures in combustion engines, turbines and gearboxes present the hardest challenges for the gaskets used. Dyneon Fluoropolymers are particularly suitable for manufacturing durable, temperature-resistant gaskets with low ageing and a long service life.
